Zamość to miasto w województwie lubelskim, położone nad rzeką Łabunką. Zamość nazywany jest m.in. "Padwą północy", "perłą renesansu" czy "miastem arkad" ze względu na wyjątkową zabudowę Starego Miasta.
Tereny zielone miasta to łąki, parki miejskie (np. Park Miejski przy Starym Mieście) i skwery. W Zamościu znajdują się również pomniki przyrody, a fragment południowej części miasta stanowi "Dolina Górnej Łabuńki" chroniony obszar Natura 2000.
Prawa miejskie Zamość otrzymał w 1580 roku dzięki Janowi Zamoyskiemu, a w roku 1589 miasto zostało stolicą Ordynacji Zamojskiej. W okresie XVII wieku odnotowano największy rozwój miasta, ludność musiała się także mierzyć z najazdami, np. Kozaków.
Zabytki Zamościa znajdują się głównie na Starym Mieście, ponieważ dzięki odizolowaniu tej części miasta udało się zachować oryginalną zabudowę architektoniczną. Rynek Wielki z ratuszem i kamienicami ormiańskimi, dawny Pałac Zamoyskich, dawna zbrojownia, neorenesansowy budynek z XIX wieku "Generałówka", Dom Centralny "Centralka", dawna Akademia Zamojska, kamienice na Rynku Solnym, katedra pw. Zmartwychwstania Pańskiego i św. Tomasza Apostoła, kościół pw. św. Mikołaja, kościół rektoralny pw. św. Katarzyny, dom wikariuszy "Wikarówka", dawne Seminarium Duchowe, Twierdza, synagogi, budynek poczty z 1835 roku, cmentarz parafialny, pomnik Jana Zamoyskiego czy gmach dawnej ubezpieczalni społecznej na ulicy Partyzantów.
